AdSense
This is just a little experiment, to see what these ads pull up based on my content. This site will obviously not have a lot of hits for a little while, so I thought I'd see if AdSense would pull up any relevant advertisements now, while it won't be annoying anyone. No need to click. They all seem to be ads for products promoting blogging as a money-making exercise so far. What a tangled web that seems to be!
No Sweat Sale
No Sweat Apparel is 100% union-made and sweatshop free, and they're having a sale!
This is a company that I wholeheartedly support. Great business practices. These people are pushing for a world without the horror of overseas (and sometimes even domestic) sweatshops, where most of our corporate clothing comes from.
Check out their line of organic printed tees from the West Bank, something I'll be talking more about in the next few weeks.
I got a half-priced vegan belt from a union in South Africa from this sale. Finally, something to snap my buckle collection on that isn't made from a carcass.

Dollars and Sense
Oce believes that every dollar you spend is a vote for the expansion of the product, company, and industry in which it is spent. It makes consumption a bit more terrifying, but I think that's a good thing. Within the confines of this blog, I will hold myself accountable for my consumer choices, delve as deeply as I can into the human-rights, politics, and environmental effects of those choices, and try to recommend products and ways of living that will make the earth the just and healthy place that so many of us want so badly.
Please give me input. I want this to be a communal place of learning, as I expect to be learning a good deal myself.
